Operation Safe Halloween targets Beaumont sex offender
The Fugitive Unit of the Texas Attorney General's Office has arrested a sex offender from Beaumont accused of committing a parole violation on Halloween night, according to information released by the A.G's Office.
William Wilman Harmon, 27, was arrested November 2 for failing to comply with parole restrictions requiring that he remain at his residence on Halloween night.
Harmon was sesntenced to one year juvenile probation in 1998 for sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.
Harmon is among four convicted sex offenders in Texas arrested by the A.G.'s Fugitive Unit and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division during Operation Safe Halloween. The crackdown targeted previously convicted sex offenders whose parole conditions required them to avoid young trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
