June 19-Leger's Restaurant Report Card

 This week's Restaurant Report Card comes to us from the Beaumont Health Department.  This time flies are making headlines in a couple of Beaumont restaurants.

We've got the highs and lows in this edition of Leger's Restaurant Report Card.

CAFE DEL RIO 2830 I-10 EAST/GRADE=80

We begin with Cafe Del Rio on I-10 East. Inspector Scott found quote more than a few flies in the kitchen, there were no soap or paper towels for proper hand washing in the tortilla room and no hand soap at the bar. Peppers were not washed. Cafe Del Rio gets an 80.

CARLITO'S MEXICAN RESTAURANT 890 AMARILLO/GRADE=85

Now to Carlito's Mexican Restaurant. Inspector Scott found raw chicken above the hot sauce which could spread bacteria that could make you sick, there were also several flies and gnats and no chlorine on the wiping towels to kill germs. Carlito's Mexican Restaurant on Amarillo gets an 85.

TIME OUT GROCERY 2310 S. 4TH ST./GRADE=79

and finally we check out Time out Grocery and Restaurant. Inspector Scott found rice and eggs at unsafe temperatures, the hand sink was blocked and the drain clogged, there was no toilet and no soap or paper towels for proper handwashing. Time out Grocery and Restaurant gets a 79.
