Police say Port Acres man uses homemade explosive to blow up clothes dryer

A 29 year old Port Acres man is in custody after police say he blew up a clothes dryer machine with fireworks.

Officers and firefighters were called to a home in the 2300 block of 62nd St. in Port Acres around 7:30p.m. Saturday night.

They found a blown up clothes dryer that was destroyed by a homemade explosive device in a vacant lot. Debris from the explosion was scattered over most of the lot, which was in a residential neighborhood.

The 29 year old was arrested and charged with Prohibited Weapon/Explosive Weapon, a 3rd degree felony.
