October 20th-Leger's Restaurant Report Card
This week we've got restaurant inspection scores from the Beaumont Health Department.
#1. MARKET BASKET 655 E. LAVACA/GRADE=71
The lowest score this week goes to Market Basket on East Lavaca. Inspector Duriso found rice at an unsafe temperature, no hair nets, and they weren't sanitizing utensils properly. Market Basket on East Lavaca gets a 71.
#2. PIG STAND 41 1595 CALDER/GRADE=73
Inspector Scott checked out Pig Stand on Calder found refrigerated food at an unsafe temperature, it had to be thrown out, there was spoiled fish in the refrigerator and young roaches in the restaurant. Pig Stand 41 gets a 73.
#3. DOMINOS PIZZA 3970 E. LUCAS DRIVE/GRADE=77
Inspector Duriso checked out Dominos Pizza on East Lucas where she found poor hygienic practices including dirty towels on shelves. Dominos on East Lucas gets a 77.
#4. POPEYES FAMOUS FRIED CHICKEN 1430 WASHINGTON/GRADE=81
Inspector Wilhelm dropped in on Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken on Washington Boulevard where she found chicken and shrimp at unsafe temperatures... and there were flies in the kitchen. Popeyes on Washington gets an 81.

The inspectors also checked out vendors at the South Texas State Fair. The sanitarians found everything in order except for one vendor.. Zeke's Sausage on a Stick had left food out too long and it had to be thrown away. Zeke's has now corrected the problem and is in compliance.
