Teacher resigns amid allegations of improper relationship educator, student at LC-M H.S.

ORANGE COUNTY - A teacher at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School has resigned while the Orange County Sheriff's Office investigates allegations of an improper relationship between the educator and a student at LC-M High School.

Sgt. Chad Hogan with the Orange County Sheriff's Office said administrators called Thursday to report that a student at LC-M High School made an outcry about an Improper Relationship between Educator and Student.

The district says once the student made the allegations, administrators took immediate action, removed the teacher from campus, notified law enforcement officers and other appropriate authorities and investigated the information. The district placed the teacher on administrative leave with pay.

Hogan told KFDM News the investigation is just getting underway. There are no arrests and no charges. Deputies took information from school district officials and the Criminal Investigations Division was contacted.
