PAPD releases name of motorcycle fatality victim

The Port Arthur Police Department has released the name of a Beaumont man killed in a motorcycle accident.

Police say Kelby Lynn West, 19, died Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle skidded off the road in the 29 hundred block of Highway 73 in Port Arthur. 

Police say West's motorcycle left the road as he attempted to exit Highway 73 and merge onto Highway 69.

The motorcycle struck a road sign.

Police and Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam III are trying to find out what caused West to lose control of his motorcycle.
