August 8th-Leger's Restaurant Report

This week's restaurant report comes to us from the Beaumont Health Department.

This week we follow-up on complaints about roaches and a sour odor at a popular steak house.

WAFFLE HOUSE 3989 COLLEGE/GRADE=70

We begin with Waffle House on College. Inspector Wilhelm found diced ham, hash browns and chili at unsafe temperatures.

The chili had to be thrown away.

She also found an employee with a tongue ring and an egg cooler had mold and hair on it.

Waffle House on College gets a 70.

POBLANO GRILL 3350 DOWLEN RD GRADE=81

Next is Poblano Grill on Dowlen Road. Inspector

Girard found the ice machine needed cleaning, there were no paper towels by the hand sink and the windex was stored near the

margarita mix in the bar.

The problems were corrected. Poblano Grill gets an 81.

TASTE OF CHINA 955 IH 10 SOUTH/NO SCORE (COMPLAINT INVESTIGATION)

Now to Taste of China on I-10 South. Inspector Scott checked out a complaint about a roach on a plate.

She found german cockroach activity behind the dishwasher and on a table in the kitchen.

She also found previous roach activity by the plate rack in the dining room and active roaches at the ice bin.

Inspector Scott also discovered mouse droppings in one of the storage rooms.

The restaurant followed instructions to have an exterminator take care of the problem and provided proof to the health department of

that on July 28th.

No score was issued.

OUTBACK STEAK HOUSE 2060 IH 10 SOUTH NO SCORE (COMPLAINT INVESTIGATION)

and finally, Inspector Duriso checked out a complaint about a sour odor at Outback Steak House.

Inspector Duriso spoke with the manager who told her they were planning to put new carpet in the restaurant before the complaint

was even filed and that would take care of the problem.

She also advised them to keep the dumpster area clean.
