October 23-Leger's Restaurant Report Card

In this week's Restaurant Report Card, inspectors check out customer complaints.

If you see something unsanitary inside a restaurant and want to report it, all you have to do is call the health department in your area.

Inspectors will visit the restaurant and prompt the management to correct any problems.

CHULA VISTA 1135 N 11TH/NO SCORE ISSUED

We begin with a consumer complaint against Chula Vista on 11th Street. Inspector Scott checked out a complaint from the public about rats and roaches. In her investigation she found live cockroaches near the kitchen and possible mouse droppings in a storeroom. She ordered the employees to clean thoroughly and exterminate as soon as possible. Inspector Scott followed up and found the restaurant hired Attaboy Termite and Pest Control and the problem was corrected. No score was issued.

SONIC DRIVE IN 425 23RD/NO SCORE ISSUED

Next Inspector Scott checked out a complaint against Sonic Drive in on 23rd Street. The inspector found that the cook does not wash hands and reuses dropped items. Inspector Scott watched him use the telephone and then go right back to cooking without washing hands. She said the floors were not clean and there were ants near the money box. The inspector says she counseled the cook and the owner and the problems were corrected. No score was issued.

PRETZEL TIME 6155 EASTEX FRWY/GRADE=83

and finally Inspector Scott found poor hygienic practices, the floors were not clean, employees weren't using sanitizer to kill germs. Pretzel Time in Parkdale Mall gets an 83.
