Man walks into restroom, finds 6' gator
JASPER COUNTY - by Steve Stewart/KJAS - Imagine walking into a public restroom and finding yourself face-to-face with a 6' alligator. That is exactly what happened to a local man on Wednesday morning in Jasper.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 at the Jasper County Junior Livestock Arena on Farm to Market Road 777. The man's wife, who did not want her name used, called Jasper County dispatchers and waited for game wardens from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to arrive.
It was surmized that the alligator may have wandered away from a nearby shallow pond, and wandered into the open door of the men's room. It was not known if the gator was male or female.
The dinosaur era creature, which appeared noticeably thin compared to the average East Texas gator, was captured by game wardens and later released into Dam B.
