Gov. Perry delivers Hurricane Ike relief funds to local school districts
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Governor Rick Perry was at a Beaumont Middle School Friday afternoon to deliver a check to B.I.S.D.
The check is worth more than $62 million dollars and is part of the state's natural disaster funds.
$23 million of it will go to the Beaumont school district to help with school repairs caused by Hurricane Ike. The rest of the money will go to other school districts in Southeast Texas that suffered damage in the storm.
The check presentation was held at Smith Middle School, which was hit hardest by Ike.
