Woman claims sexual assault at site of Amelia school
BEAUMONT - Beaumont police are investigating a woman's claim that she was sexually assaulted early Thursday at an elementary school after leaving a nightclub.
The woman, 28, of Beaumont, told police she had left Whiskey River with an acquaintance, a 29 year old man from Beaumont, in his black Chevrolet Envoy.
She said he drove her to Amelia Elementary School and sexually assaulted her.
According to the woman, the man then drove around until they were in front of the Quality Inn, 1590 IH-10 South. The woman said she grabbed the steering wheel and jumped out and ran away when he almost lost control of the vehicle.
She was taken by ambulance to the ER at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.
