Man runs into Pine Island Bayou

Jefferson County- Breaking news tonight from Jefferson County. 50 year old, Reynaldo Smith, failed to negotiate a curve and ran into the Pine Island Bayou near Plant Road. Beaumont Police and Fire were called to the scene and arrived within minutes. According to Beaumont Fire Captain Brad Penisson, 35 year veteran of the Beaumont Fire Department, Captain Regan Crawford pulled Smith from his vehicle and brought him back to the bank. Smith was transported to Chirstus Hospital St. Elizabeth. He is listed in stable condition. Beaumont Police are still investigating why Smith missed the curve.
