LC-M students attend public leadership institute
ORANGE - On Tuesday, five Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School students, along with 100 other area high school students, attended The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Beaumont’s John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute.
This year, the Student Leadership Forum, the System of Service (S.O.S.) program is designed to help youth change their future by becoming more aware of their own leadership style with a greater emphasis on service.
The John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute is a program of the The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
The Student Forum portion of the Institute offers young people the opportunity to learn leadership, communication and goal-setting skills, as well as heightens their awareness of responsible citizenship. The John Ben Shepperd Student Leadership Forum is a one-day session provided at no cost to the student or school. The Forum has been generously underwritten by ExxonMobil.
