Orangefield's Scholar Athletes

When KFDM first met Erin Kelley, she was telling her tennis teammates the following joke: Why do tennis players not get much sleep? There's just too much racquet!

The Orangefield star has plenty of personality that will be missed when she attends Texas Christian University next fall.

"It had a really good nursing program, and i went to the campus and loved it. i love the fort worth area," she said.

You could say that Erin's choice in major and the game of tennis is a perfect "match."

"I think playing sports had a lot to do with it because I realized how important it is to stay healthy and in shape," said Erin.

Senior Clint Worthy is a class favorite at Orangefield. The soft-spoken student is going to Lamar next fall to become an engineer.

"I'm pretty involved in my church and side projects for national honor society and stuff like that," said Clint.

He plays third base for the Bobcats.

"I try to be a little bit vocal, but mostly I set by example," he said.

Erin said she's appreciated the faculty at Orangefield for keeping her balanced.

"Since I'm in honors classes, they are a little bit harder and by missing every Friday, I usually have to go in a lot and do extra work. They are always willing to help."

Clint kept his thanks in the family tree.

"I'd have to say my dad and both my grandpas. They always push me to work hard and push me in sports and school. They got me here."

KFDM would like to wish these Bobcats good luck as they excel at the next academic level.
