Dec 12 Leger's Restaurant Report Card

This week's restaurant inspection scores come to us from the Hardin County Health Department.

Inspector Marian Kellum checks out restaurants all across Hardin County to make sure the owners are following food safety rules.

This week Kellum found very few problems.

 

#1. Rafael"s Mexican Restaurant 351 South Main Lumberton/Grade=90

We begin with Rafael's Mexican Restaurant in Lumberton. Inspector Kellum found just a couple of problems, the equipment holding plates in the kitchen was dirty and needed to be cleaned and the kitchen sink needed to be cleaned and sanitized. Rafael's still makes a good score with a 90.

 

#2. Casa Ole 915 Hwy 96 Silsbee/Grade=90

Next Inspector Kellum checked out Casa Ole on Highway 96 in Silsbee. The microwave was dirty .. and the ice machine needed to be cleaned. Despite that Casa Ole in Silsbee also did well with a 90.

 

#3. Now to Chef Chen 900 Hwy 96 in Silsbee/Grade=93

and finally the inspector checked out Chef Chen on Highway 96 in Silsbee. The restaurant was in need of a thermometer to make sure the cooler was holding food at safe temperatures. Chef Chen scores a nice 93.

The Silsbee Country Club scored an 87. The inspector said the microwave was dirty.

The Valero Diamond Shamrock on South Main in Lumberton earned a 93.

BLUE RIBBON AWARDS FOR PERFECT SCORES FROM THE HARDIN COUNTY HEALTH DEPT.:

J/Rods Processing on Ashcroft Lane in Silsbee made a 100.

And the Pine Arbor Nursing Home on FM 418 West also had a perfect score.
