DPS Says Alcohol a Factor in Fatal Accident

A man from Hamshire is dead following a two car accident in Jefferson County, and state troopers say evidence indicates the man had been drinking prior to the accident.

 

State troopers say 43 year old Dwayne James Choate of Hamshire was traveling north on Hamshire Road at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday when he ran a stop sign at Highway 124 and hit another car.

 

Choate died at the scene.

 

A woman driving the car was taken to Chistus Hospital St. Elizabeth. We're checking on her condition.
