Fatal Accident in Liberty County

D.P.S. Troopers are investigating a fatal accident in Liberty County.

It happened on F.M. 1010 at 4:00 Friday evening.

Troopers say 24 year old Carlos Rodriguez was driving a 1994 Isuzu on the wrong side of the road when he collided with a 2004 Dodge. The truck was driven by 18 year old Kenton Franklin of Porter, Texas.

Troopers say Rodriguez's passenger 22 year old Armondo Castillo was killed in the accident. Rodriguez was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The two men were from Cleveland, Texas and working as laborers in the area.

Franklin was reported in good condition.

It has not been determined if alcohol played a factor in the accident.
