A local woman is recovering at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont after being seriously injured in a one vehicle rollover accident in Tyler County. The crash occurred shortly before 4:00 on Thursday afternoon on a stretch of Highway 190 about 11 miles east of Woodville.
35 year old Amy Wagstaff suffered head injuries after her late model Toyota 4-Runner left the highway and rolled over, landing upside down next to the roadway.
A witness, Penny Walker, said that Wagstaff was initially unconscious, but regained consciousness shortly before she was loaded onto an emergency medical helicopter and flown from the scene.
Friends of the Wagstaff family said on Friday that Amy is improving as she continues to undergfo treatment. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
