Fatal accident in Hardin County

Law enforcement officers told KFDM News a woman was killed in a collision Wednesday afternoon in Hardin County, north of Silsbee.

The accident happened at about 1 p.m. on Highway 92 near Gore Store Road.

Investigators say a woman was turning onto Gore Store Road when a driver struck her from behind. Her SUV overturned and the woman was killed. The driver of the car wasn't seriously hurt.

The woman has been identified as Vanessa Strawther, 30, of Silsbee.

Ya it does have to do with the road, they should have a turn lane there. More people turn on that rode than almost every other rode on 92. I was waiting to turn the lady that rear ended me hit me runnin 83 mph. I had my small child in the vehicle and as far as anyone dieing in my accident thank god noone did but people were critically injured. Like the state patrolman said that is a bad turning area and if my vehicle wouldnt have set as tall as it did we would have all died. So u can tell all that to my child who is still scared of wrecking when we get in the vehicle that its the Drugs and Beer and not the road which isnt the case because noone was doped up or high in my accident. I know for a fact in my case if there were a turn lane i wouldnt be walkin with my spine fused together. And ya the county needs to quit lettin all those dopers out of jail every 10 seconds. I didnt say the county needed to be held responsible for the fool that hit her but the do need to be held responisble for the road and makin that intersection safe for people turnin.Ya it was almost to the day except mine happened at 12 noon
