Major Raymond Clark with the Port Arthur Police Department tells KFDM News investigators are searching for a man they call a person of interest in the disappearance of 24 year old Summer Bourque of Nederland, who was last seen leaving Dylan's Bar and Grill with the man Sunday night.

Major Clark says investigators are waiting on dental records to confirm whether a body found in the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Refuge Wednesday is that of Summer Bourque.

Summer's family tells KFDM News they're already making funeral arrangements.

Major Clark identifies the person of interest as Jimmy Joseph Desormeaux, 43, of Port Arthur.

He says Desormeaux is a white man, 5'11" and 180 pounds.

Desormeaux was last seen in Sabine County near Highway 3449, near 6 Mile Marina at the Toledo Bend Reservoir.

His vehicle, a 1989 Dodge van, has been recovered by detectives.

Clark says Desormeaux was recently released from a Georgia prison.

Port Arthur Police Chief Mark Blanton says the body was spotted by Texas Parks and Wildlife workers at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Refuge. The workers were spraying water hyacinths when they found the body.

Police used four wheelers to search hundreds of acres of the refuge, looking for evidence.

If you have any information about the case, call EasTex Crimestoppers at 724-TIPS.

There is a benefit link sale scheduled to help Summer's family pay for funeral expenses and other expenses.

The benefit is this Saturday at Superior Tire, located at 2307 Nederland Avenue in Nederland from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

An account has been set up at Gulf Employees Credit Union. The account number is 70261.

"She's just a family, people person, she would not be gone this long without calling anybody, letting somebody know something," said Stacy Bourque, Summer's mother, in an interview Tuesday with KFDM News.

Summer and her friend, Stephanie Arens, went to Dylan's Bar and Grill Sunday night to have a few drinks for Stephanie's birthday. Stephanie was ready to leave after a few hours. She said Summer wanted to stay.

"She's like my sister and I hope she's okay. I begged her to come home with me. She wouldn't do it," said Stephanie Arens.

Summer was last seen on surveillance video leaving Dylan's with an unknown person. Neither came back inside to finish their drinks or pay their tabs.

Summer was scheduled to work at Sanderson's Restaurant Monday afternoon.

"She would have called somebody, she would have called work, told them, 'hey I'm not coming in,' she would have called me, she would have called her," said Stacy Bourque.

When family and friends try to call Summer, the call goes straight to her cell phone voicemail.

"We just need anybody's help in bringing her back home, please, please," said Bourque.
