Orangefield man arrested on drug charges

On Thursday July 9, 2009 at approximately 9:48 am, Sgt. Tracy Sorge and Sgt. Joel Stinnett of the Orange County Sheriff's Office observed a Maroon in color Toyota truck travelling south on FM 1442 failing to maintain a single lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated and a roadside interview was conducted. The driver was identified as Nathan Ray Bendy Carrico, W/M, a 47 year old Orangefield resident and owner of D&S Plumbing in Orangefield. Carrico was travelling between job sites when he was stopped. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed various controlled substances and marijuana inside the vehicle.
Carrico was arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail where he was booked for 4 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 count of Possession of Marijuana. Bonds totaled $4500.00.
