Students at Booker T. Washington Elementary School learned where they will be attending school for the rest of the year. An arsonist set their school on fire Sunday night. The building also houses the Memorial 9th grade campus.
Thursday morning school administrators met with parents to discuss plans for getting students back in school. School officials expect the former Lincoln high building to be ready for 9th graders to return Monday. The elementary side of the building was destroyed. The students have been divided up by grade. Students and their teachers will have class in other elementary schools throughout Port Arthur for the remainder of the year.
