A man is behind bars in the Jasper County Jail following a shooting.

Investigators say Thomas Wayne Barrett, 35, fired two shots at Shannon Maddox, 31, early Wednesday morning at Barrett's home on FM 82 in Kkirbyville.

The men told deputies they were arguing about an air conditioner.

Maddox was shot in the chest and chin.

He's recovering at a hospital in Jasper.

Investigators expect to charge Barrett with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon.
