BEAUMONT -- Beaumont police say a woman with cerebral palsy drowned while bathing when a family member left her alone.
Kimberlie Pierre, 32, who had cerebral palsy, was in the care of a family member who was giving her a bath, then left her in the tub for a few minutes to tend to another mattter, investigators said. When the relative returned to Pierre, she was under water and unresponsive. Authorities responded to the reported drowning at about 7:20 p.m. July 3, in the 1600 block of Auburn.
The family member performed CPR until Beaumont paramedics arrived. Paramedics transported Pierre to Baptist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
