Woman Strikes and Kills Bicyclist, Moves Bicycle and Drives Away

Beaumont police are searching for a woman who struck and killed a bicyclist with her car, then got out and moved his bicycle out of the way before driving away.

Officers say the man was riding his bicycle near the intersection of Liberty and 9th Street at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Police say the man was turning onto 9th Street when he was struck by the car, dragging him more than 20 feet.

Witnesses say the woman got out of her car, moved the man's bicycle out of the way, then drove away. Witnesses describe the driver as a black woman with short hair, driving a small, white or gray car.
