Student News Report

ORANGEFIELD-The Lady Bobcats varsity volleyball team traveled to Kountze Tuesday night to take on the Wildcats of Splendora. The two teams both played well during district play, and knew coming into the the night it would be a battle.

In game one of the night, the Lady Bobcats played very well, as did the Wildcats, but it was the Bobcats who took the win. Splendora didn’t go down easy though, they stayed competitive and only fell short by a few points.

The loss in game one sparked a fire inside the Wildcats because in the next three games they would dominate. In game four, the Lady Bobcats scrapped together a late run, but couldn’t quite pull out the win to force a game five.

The Bobcat offensive leaders were Aimee Scales with 13 kills and 2 blocks, Kaitlynn Henson with 7 kills and 2 aces, Ashlyn Lopez with 3 kills, and Rylie Granger with 17 assists and 2 kills.
