New details about suspect charged with sexually assaulting young girls
Orange County authorities call it one of the worst sexual assault cases they've investigated.
49-year-old Douglas Ray Boehm was arrested Friday and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault. On Sunday, a judge tacked on a $1.5 million bond.
Investigators say bame has sexually assaulted three girls under the age of twelve for the past four years.
Authorities today released the probable cause affidavit that led to Boehm's arrest, which came after authorities say one of his victims reported the abuse.
In the document, Boehm details meeting the girls when he and his wife began attending church with the girls' family. At the time, the girls were four, eight and twelve.
In the affidavit, Boehm talks about several occassions when the girls spent the night at the home he and his wife shared in Bridge City. The document lists that location as the site of the assaults. The affidavit says Boehm estimated that over the past four years, he has assaulted two of the girls a total of more than two hundred times.
During his arrest on Friday, investigators say he also admitted to having child pornography on his home computer.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says it's now investigating the possibility of three additional victims. Authorities say they hope releasing the information will encourage any other victims to come forward.
"This guy needs to be locked up," said Sgt. Chad Hogan, "People like this, he's definitely a sexual predator and he needs to be behind bars."
Douglas Ray Boehm is a convicted sex offender. Boehm was convicted in 1992 for aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced to ten years probation, which he completed in 2002.
If Boehm is convicted of even one of these new sexual assault charges, his punishment will be an automatic life sentence in prison. Investigators say more charges and arrests are possible in this case.
