Charter bus, 18 wheeler collide on Interstate 10
A charter bus and an 18 wheeler have collided on Interstate 10 near the Winnie exit, and although there were only minor injuries in that accident, another driver was critically hurt in a separate accident near the area, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A DPS dispatcher says a Coach USA bus and an 18 wheeler collided at about 6 a.m. Friday on Interstate 10 West at mile marker 830, east of Winnie.
The dispatcher says several passengers on the Coach USA bus reported minor injuries.
A driver was seriously injured after his pickup truck crashed into the back of a truck driven by a man who'd stopped on the shoulder to help with traffic control. That person wasn't hurt. The other driver was taken by medical helicopter to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont with serious injuries. He's in stable condition.
I-10 West has reopened following the accident.
