Nederland police have released the name of a 2-year old boy who was run over by a family friend backing out of the driveway.

Chief Darrell Bush says Noah Bodden was pronounced dead at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas shortly after the accident at 11:40 a.m. Saturday at the family's home in the 100 block of Nederland Ave.

The driver was a 23 year old Port Neches man.

Bush says Noah was standing outside with his father, who was talking with the family friend. When the friend got in his SUV and started to pull out, his father realized Noah was behind the vehicle. Bush says the dad hollered for the driver to stop but he was unable to do so in time.

Bush says the accident is under investigation.
