Have an City Related Issue? Beaumont Residents Can Now Call 311
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Dispatchers inside the Beaumont 911 Call Center aren't just taking emergency calls anymore. Monday through Friday from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. these four dispatchers are designated to take 311 calls. A phone line set up by the city to help citizens with non emergency services.
If you have a problem and live in the city of Beaumont, the city wants to help. Instead of flipping through the phone book trying to figure out who to call 311 is now at your service.
Barbi Stuart is the 911/311 Assistant Manager. Stuart said, "if residents don't know which department to call within the city dial 311 these four ladies will take these calls and they will take the work order and send it to the right department."
Stuart said you should call 311 if you have a question about any city service including garbage pick-up, parking violations, parks and recreation, animal problem, high weeds, traffic signs, or even a in the road.
Stuart said after a dispatcher sends a city worker to fix the problem they'll also do a follow up call with the resident to make sure it was taken care of.
Beaumont Mayor Becky Ames launched the 311 program on september 3rd.
Right now you can only call 311 from your home phone but details are still being worked out with cell phone providers. If you want to reach 311 operators on your cell phone you'll have to call (409) 980-8311.
