GOLDEN MEADOW, La. (AP) - A Golden Meadow police officer who was fired last week after he pepper-sprayed the mother-in-law of a town councilman says video footage from his squad car will prove he did nothing wrong. Forty-three-year-old Darrin Charpentier was fired by the Town Council on Wednesday after complaints from 61-year-old Jennifer Callais, the mother-in-law of Councilman David Adams. Adams abstained from voting. Callais had been stopped Sept. 4 for having overly tinted windows. Charpentier said she tried to drive away. Callais said her foot slipped off the brake. Meanwhile, an attorney for the Louisiana Press Association says Charpentier's firing may be void because the matter wasn't on the council's Wednesday agenda. --- Information from: Daily Comet,
