October 30-Leger's Restaurant Report Card
This week's Restaurant Report Card comes to us from the Hardin County Health Department.
Inspector Marian Kellum found one restaurnat with so many problems it barely pass its inspection. We've got the highs and lows in this edition of the Restaurant Report Card.
CHEF CHEN HWY 96 SILSBEE/GRADE=70
We begin with Chef Chen on Highway 96 in Silsbee. Inspector Kellum found roaches crawling in the kitchen area. There were gnats in the kitchen and around the drink machine. Employees were not washing hands at the hand sink. The water was not hot enough to wash and sanitize items. The inspector says she had to go back two times until everything was corrected. Chef Chen in Silsbee gets a 70.
GRAND CHINA 1320 HWY 96 SOUTH LUMBERTON/GRADE=86
Now to Grand China on Highway 96 in Lumberton. Inspector kellum found no dates on food in the freezer to ensure it was safe to eat, lids on containers were dirty and needed cleaning, and the inspector said the only things that should be in the hand sink are hands. Grand China in Lumberton get an 86.
CRAZY JOSE'S 951 SOUTH MAIN LUMBERTON/GRADE=100
And finally Crazy Jose's in Lumberton gets credit this week for having one of the best scores in Hardin County. Inspector Kellum says the restaurant had no violations and earned a perfect score of 100.
