Overnight car chase reaches speeds of more than 100 miles an hour
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A high speed chase that started at the Jasper/Orange County line ended early Saturday morning at the service road of I-10 in Vidor near Denver Rd.
Around 2:00a.m. a Jasper County Sheriff deputy tells KFDM he saw a Honda Accord swerving in the roadway, he tried to pull the driver over. Instead the suspect speed away, a few minutes later he lost control of the car and went into a ditch.
The deputy thought the chase was over, but he says the driver drove out of the ditch and onto Highway 105. At times going more than 100 miles an hour.
Eventually deputies were able to catch up to the driver and he was taken into custody.
Deputies say he had a parole violation, he is expected to be charged with evading arrest.
