Dec. 21-Leger's Restaurant Report Card
Comments 0 | Recommend 0This week the Restaurant Report Card takes a look at eateries in Orange County. There were three restaurants in Orange County that didn't make the grade, in fact they scored below a 70 which is considered a failing score. It doesn't necessarily mean they were ordered to close. Whether they are ordered to close depends on how critical the violations are and the threat they pose to the public. In some cases, the restaurant is able to correct the problems on the spot and remain open. None of the restaurants in this report were ordered to close. The inspector decided only one of them needed a follow-up inspection.
Here's the Orange County edition of the Restaurant Report Card.
#1. GENERAL WOK 1803 16th St. Orange/Grade=52
We begin with the lowest score of the week and it belongs to General Wok on 16th Street in Orange. Inspector Lee found chicken, sweet and sour chicken and egg rolls at unsafe temperatures. Now to Denny's on I-10 in Rose City. Inspector Lee on the job. She discovered the cook not washing his hands, in fact he rubbed his nose and then touched food, a roach and fly were spotted in the kitchen, there was dirty water in the dish wash area, outside the dumpster was overflowing. Denny's in Rose City wound up with a failing grade of 66. However, the general manager Robin Thomas told us the problems had been corrected and she's waiting for a follow-up inspection she believes will show a dramatic improvement..
