Suspects Accused of Using BB Guns to Rob Store Clerks

At approximately 4:20am on July 31st, 2008 officers with the Port Neches Police Dept. responded to an armed robbery at the Exxpress Mart, 3181 Saba Ln, Port Neches. The clerk reported that she had been robbed at gunpoint by two white male suspects wearing bandannas. One of the suspects displayed a black pistol and they took a small amount of cash and several cartons of cigarettes. A witness to the robbery was able to obtain a vehicle description that enabled officers to determine the identity of one of the suspects. While the officers were conducting their investigation a second similar robbery occurred at the B&B convenience store in Groves. Shortly after the Groves robbery officers from the Nederland police department detained two white male suspects in the parking lot of the Fast Lane convenience store. Both of these suspects fit the description of the suspects from the two previous robberies. Officers also recovered two BB pistols and proceeds from the other two robberies. Both of the suspects were arrested and charged with Robbery. One of the suspects is 18 yoa and the second suspect is a juvenile. For additional information contact Detective Sgt. Jim Walters.
