Investigators tell KFDM News two people have been killed in a collision involving eight motorcycles on top of the spillway at Lake Sam Rayburn Reservoir.

The accident was reported at about noon Friday on Highway 255.

Highway 255 was closed in both directions until late Friday afternoon .

A justice of the peace was called to the scene.

The D.P.S. isn't sure how many people may have been injured.

Authorities aren't releasing the victims' names until relatives are notified.

A number of ambulances responded, as did emergency personnel from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, and the Lake Rayburn and Angelina River Volunteer Fire Departments.

Stay with KFDM for the latest on the story.
