OHS Particpates in KFDM Christmas Food Drive

ORANGEFIELD - The Orangefield High School Student Council held a competition to raise can goods for the KFDM Christmas Food Drive. Mrs. Rice, Student Council sponsor, held the competition to try to raise as many cans as possible.

The competition involved four Orangefield teachers and a gorilla suit, where the teacher raising the most cans had to wear the suit for one school day. Students donated cans to the select teachers that they wanted to see win.

With the competition ending Friday, November 6, Student Council raised approximately 300 cans. It was a close race but, Mrs. Rice came out ahead and must wear the gorilla suit. Mrs. Rice was very enthusiastic with the results saying “We didn’t raise as much as we wanted…but I can’t wait to help out again next year.”
