OHS Stuco raises Pennies for Patients
ORANGEFIELD - During the week of Halloween, the Student Council decided to do a service project to raise money for the Pennies for Patients charity.
Student Council Sponsor Mrs. Rice said, “It’s a good organization and I think it does a lot to help those who are ill.”
Throughout the week, Student Council members went around the school with Pennies for Patients cans and asked students for donations.
Some of the members went to the Elementary and the Junior High to collect more donations. They even had a special day where you could buy a hat sticker for fifty cents and could wear a hat throughout the school day. Overall, the Student Council raised $619.75 and all the proceeds were donated to the Pennies for Patients charity.
Student Council Member, Kyle Letbetter said, “I feel that we did pretty well. We raised a lot and it’s going to a good cause.”
