A man is in police custody following a multi county chase Friday night.

Investigators say the chase started in Saratoga on FM 770 west of Kountze when officers tried to pull him over for a traffic violation.

The man refused to stop.

Law enforcement chased the man across Hardin County.

In Jefferson County the driver ran over spikes set by police at Highway 69 and 105 near the Cattle Company Restaurant.

The man managed to make it all the way to Orange County before wrecking his vehicle.

He crashed into a telephone pole on West Bolivar Road in Vidor, just off Interstate Ten.

Authorities say the vehicle had been reported stolen in Liberty County.
