Hot pursuit ends in Evadale, two arrested
Comments 0 | Recommend 0EVADALE -- The Jasper County Sheriff's Department says a high speed chase late Wednesday evening covered three counties, but ended without any injuries and two suspects in custody.
Officers said it all began at about 10:30 when Deputy Scott Jacks attempted to stop a 1992 Ford pickup truck on Highway 105, near Evadale. Jacks said the truck stopped and a juvenile passenger got out and surrendered. However, the driver took off again and led deputies on a high speed chase.
According to the Sheriff's Department, the truck continued southbound on Highway 105, into Orange County, meanwhile, dispatchers discovered that the driver, 35 year old Sean Christopher Parker, was wanted on felony parole violation warrants out of Austin.
The pursuit continued on Farm to Market Road 1131, back into Jasper County, and then on U.S. Highway 96 into Hardin County.
Deputies chased the truck through Silsbee and then onto State Highway 92 northbound towards Tyler County.
The Sheriff's Department says Parker then tried to run into a Hardin County patrol car, which prompted the Hardin County deputies to shoot out the tires on the truck, forcing Parker to stop and surrender.
Parker was arrested and taken to the Hardin County Jail in Kountze, where he was later arraigned by Hardin County Justice of the Peace Kathy Simpson. Parker was officially charged with felony evading arrest with a motor vehicle, and then he was taken to the Jasper County Jail, where he remained on Thursday.
