Credit union robbery suspect cleared, new suspects charged

Aurielle Tineo has been cleared in the aggravated robbery of a Winnie credit union after further investigation by the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.  Tineo became a suspect in the aggravated robbery of the Texas Coastal Community Federal Credit Union, which occurred on February 4, 2010, after video of the robbery aired on local news stations. Crimestoppers tipsters stated that the suspect greatly favored Tineo.  Further probable cause was established in the investigation, which led to her arrest on February 11, 2010.

After news of Tineo’s arrest was made public, information was received from Lake Charles, Louisiana, indicating that Lake Charles resident Jennifer Sykes Devillier (w/f, 32 yrs old, 5’0”, 110lbs) was actually the person responsible for the robbery.  Jennifer Devillier was wanted in Louisiana on two counts of armed robbery, and was on the run in the Houston area. Information also advised that Devillier’s husband, Edwin Devillier,  was the get-away driver in the Winnie Robbery. Edwin Devillier had been arrested in Harris County February 9, 2010, on two robbery warrants out of Louisiana.

Chambers County Sheriff’s Investigators and FBI Agents interviewed Edwin Devillier at the Harris County Jail, where he gave specific details of his involvement in the Winnie robbery. He implicated Jennifer Devillier as the Winnie robber.  Warrants were issued for both Devilliers for the Winnie robbery. After an extensive search, Chambers County Deputies located and arrested Jennifer Devillier in west Houston on February 16, 2010.  She confessed to her involvement in the Winnie robbery.

Jennifer Devillier is being held without bond in the Chambers County jail for the Winnie robbery and the two Louisiana robberies.  Edwin Devillier is being held without bond in the Harris County jail for the Winnie robbery and the two Louisiana robberies. 

Chambers County Sheriff Joe LaRive stated that the Sheriff’s Office and the FBI worked closely together in this case. The agencies acted in good faith in establishing probable cause for Tineo’s arrest, and that she was immediately released from jail when it was discovered that she was not the suspect.
