Kids okay after bus ends up in ditch

VIDOR - One Vidor student was slightly injured when a school bus carrying 53 others ended up in a ditched filled with rain water.
Students from Vidor Junior High and and Vidor High School were on a bus taking them home when the driver of the bus turn onto a road filled with water.
The driver couldn't see where the road ended and drove into the ditch causing the bus to tip over into the ditch.
It happened about 4 p.m. Monday near Moore and Lamar Streets, off Main in Vidor..
Police and neighbors helped the students exit the bus safely through the back door.
The Vidor ISD superintendent, Dr. Joe Burns, says the bus driver was taking an alternate route.
