Child ejected from vehicle
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A toddler was ejected and four other people were hurt after an SUV left Interstate 10 in Vidor and overturned, according to information provided to KFDM News by Vidor Police Chief Eric Foerster.
Authorities received the call at about 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Chief Foerster told KFDM News witnesses saw the SUV swerve sharply to the right on I-10 East at mile marker 866, near FM 1135. The SUV crossed over a ditch and rolled several times before it landed upside down on the grass across from the service road.
Authorities stopped traffic on I-10 East to allow a medical helicopter to land. A 23 month old girl was taken by medical helicopter to a Houston hospital. Four other people were transported by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital.
Chief Foerster says the child and adults should be okay.
A 19 year old woman who wasn't hurt was taken to the Vidor Police Department to assist with the investigation.
The family is from Opelousas, Louisiana.
