Helicopters Help Entergy Bring Power to LNG Terminal

May 8, 2008 - 9:50 PM

Entergy is getting ready to lay the groundwork for electric service to a billion dollar LNG terminal in Sabine Pass.

Entergy took reporters to a company service center in Port Acres where it stores utility poles and other equipment.

Entergy is using a helicopter to place utility poles and lines between Port Arthur and the Golden Pass LNG terminal in Sabine Pass.

An Entergy spokeswoman says it's important to help with a project that will boost the nation's supply of natural gas while ensuring it doesn't harm the environment.

There are at least four LNG terminals under construction or planned near Sabine Pass. They'll open in the next few years.
