Update: A shelter in place has been lifted following a truck fire on the bridge over the Neches River in Evadale.

The Beaumont DPS says a tire blew out on an 18 wheeler, causing a fire on the trailer of the vehicle on the Highway 96 bridge over the Neches River in Evadale.

The fire was put out and no one was hurt.

Highway 96 near the bridge was closed until it was determined the truck was carrying Calcium Chloride pellets, which aren't hazardous.

Students and staff at the Evadale School briefly sheltered in place.
