Louisiana Saints fans react to Super Bowl win

Do you believe in miracles? Thousands of New Orleans Saints fans across the country are answering that question tonight with a resounding "Yes."  Even the smallest towns are feeling a big impact from the franchise's first Super Bowl showing, and win.
 
While work was in progress at Vinton City Hall Monday, play wasn't far behind.

One day after the New Orleans Saints walked off the football field in Miami as Super Bowl champions, for the first time, their faithful followers on the other side of the state say they're in disbelief.

Vinton Mayor Kenneth Stinson said, "Everybody's still pinching themselves today, I think it's, you know, it happened, you watched it, but is it real? And I think it's real."

The boys in black and gold were also the topic of talk at one salon in downtown Vinton.

Salon owner Megan Hubert said, "Everybody's been 'Who Dat,Who Dat.'"

And word on the street? The Saints... dat's who.

Lake Charles resident Lee Brown said, "It feels like we all made it."

To some, the game was just that.. a game.

"The first half.. nerve racking, but the second was good," said Hubert.

But to most, the win was for more than just a trophy.

Vinton resident Lloyd Simon said, "It was a very, very big deal for Louisiana."

Brown said, "It really feels like they were able to do something for the entire state."

"The old saying used to be, well, 'There's always next year'.. now the saying is 'We can't wait til next year.'"

And if the Saints winning the Super Bowl is anything, these fans say it's validation, if you believe, anything is possible.

"Oh yes, every thing is based on faith," said Hubert.

Brown said, "They said it was a curse, Saints couldn't win, Ilooked at my dad and said 'Hey, where's the curse', so they showed us if you believe it, you can do it."

Stinson said, "I absolutely believe that if you wish long enough and you hope long enough and you support long enough, it will happen."
