February 10, 2012 Leger's Restaurant Report Card

This weeks restaurant inspection scores come to us from the Beaumont Health Department.

GOLDEN DRAGON BUFFET 6420 A EASTEX FREEWAY/GRADE=78

We begin with Golden Dragon Buffet. Inspector Lee found immitation crab thawed on a table at 70 degrees which is not a safe temperature. The fly swatter was hanging over the food preparation table in the kitchen and raw meat was stored over vegetables. Golden Dragon Buffet on Eastex gets a 78.

APPLEBEES 4375 DOWLEN ROAD/GRADE=84

Next is Applebees on Dowlen Road. Inspector Lee found employees with face piercing, tongue piercing and lip piercing. There was mold in the ice machine. Applebees on Dowlen gets an 84.

LA MORENITA MEAT MARKET 850 SOUTH 11TH STREET/GRADE=85

Now to La Morenita Meat Market on South 11th Street. Inspector Lee found no door on the freezer to maintain proper food temperatures, pork chops were stored on an open garbage can, there was not soap and paper towels for proper hand washing and the meat grinder needed to be cleaned. La Moreinita on South 11th gets an 85.

BROUSSARDS LINKS AND RIBS 2930 S. 11TH GRADE=86

Inspector Lee found unsafe food temperatures, meats were left out at room temperature, pies were at room temperature, the inspector saw many flies inside and no sanitizer to kill germs in the kitchen. Broussards Links and Ribs on South 11th gets an 86.

LUBY'S CAFETERIA 2695 I -10 EAST GRADE=86

Chief inspector Girard found managers not wearing hair restraints, the ice machine needed cleaning and the salad cooler wasn't working properly. Luby's gets an 86.

Subway 4404 DOWLEN ROAD/GRADE=86

and finally we check out Subway on Dowlen Road. Inspector Lee found poor hygienic practices, onions in a bag were stored on a chemical storage rack and the ice scoop needed to be cleaned. Subway on Dowlen gets an 86.
