Leger's Restaurant Report Card 4/11

Beaumont health inspectors this week have found food at unsafe temperatures at several restaurants.

It's not that the food will taste too hot or cold - it's a question of whether it's been maintained at the proper temperature before it reaches your table.

If not, bacteria could grow and it could make you sick.

#1. KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN 3297 COLLEGE/GRADE=70

We begin with Kentucky Fried Chicken. Inspector Wilhelm found cole slaw, chicken and mashed potatoes at unsafe temperatures. The ice machine and the chicken cooler both needed to be cleaned. KFC on College barely passes with a 70.

#2. QUIZNOS SUB 3775 COLLEGE/GRADE=71

Inspector Scott found chicken and soup at unsafe temperatures. The chicken was thawing on the counter instead of under running water or in a cooler. The chicken had to be thrown out. There were many gnats and several flies, the toilet was leaking onto the floor and there was pink mold in the ice machine. Quiznos on College gets a low 71.

#3. WAFFLE HOUSE 3989 COLLEGE/GRADE=74

Inspector Wilhelm found ham at an unsafe temperature, the meat cooler was working properly, hair resetraints didn't meet requirements and there was no hot water in the rest room. Waffle House on College gets a 74.

#4. WAFFLE HOUSE 3865 I 10 SOUTH/GRADE=78

Inspector Wilhelm checked out another Waffle House.. this one on I-10 South. She found eggs at unsafe temperatures, improper hair restraints and the meat cooler needed cleaning. Waffle House on I-10 South gets a 78.
