Grand Jury Clears Day Care Owner
KFDM News has learned a grand jury has cleared a Lumberton day care owner who faced allegations of inappropriate contact with a child.
The Hardin County district attorney says a grand jury no-billed Mark David Merrill on May 13.
Merill owns Little Folks of Lumberton day care.
The allegations were made last December.
The Lumberton police chief investigated and turned the case over to the D.A.
Child Protective Services also investigated, which is standard procedure.
Merrill has had to remain away from the day care until the case was resolved.
He told us the manager and staff have been running the day care in his absence.
He hopes to get back as soon as possible to the day care he's operated for 24 years.
"Since the beginning of the ordeal my life has been on hold for all of these months, and I'm so happy because I feel like I can live again and look forward to resuming life and getting back to the day care," Merrill told KFDM News.
