Closures Due to Gustav (Updated 9/2)
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Beaumont School District cancelled classes Tuesday and Wednesday. They will reopen Thursday.
Bridge City ISD will reopen Thursday.
The Port Arthur school district and Sabine Pass Schools will also reopen Thursday. Classes will resume Thursday at PNG ISD and Nederland ISD. All Hardin County Schools reopen Thursday. Evadale schools will also be closed on those days, as will Burkeville and Newton ISD's, and assess the situation at that time. Colmesneil schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Warren schools will close Monday and Tuesday. Spurger schools are closed Monday and Tuesday, as well as Brookland ISD. Living Waters Academy will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Jasper ISD schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. High Island ISD will be open Wednesday. The MET Headstart program will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Woodville ISD will be closed on Tuesday. The school will reopen on Wednesday.
Hamshire-Fannett will be be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Spurger ISD will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Brookeland ISD will be closed on Tuesday. Classes will resume on Wednesday.
Warren ISD will be closed on Tuesday. Classes will resume on Wednesday.
Community Christian School in Orange will be closed Tuesday but will resume classes on Wednesday.
Diocese of Beaumont - Schools will be closed on Wednesday and reporting back on Thursday. (both faculty and students)
All Hardin County schools (including Lumberton ISD) will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. They will reopen Thursday.
Further closures will be announced as soon as possible. Any changes will be announced through local media outlets and the school district websites.

High Island ISD will be closed Tuesday.
Lamar University, LIT and Lamar State Colleges in Port Arthur and Orange are all closed tomorrow but will reopen Wednesday. The Cardinal Village residences halls will open Tuesday at 3 p-m. Visit www.lamar.edu website or the www.LIT.edu website for further updates.
Due to Hurricane Gustav, Harmony Science Academy-Beaumont campus will be closed on Tuesday and they will assess their decision on the rest of the week.

Younger Years Pre-School in Silsbee will also be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont is asking employees scheduled to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to report as usual. Memorial Hermann is also in need of additional staff to work. Employees are asked to call 800-545-3483.
As of Monday night, Signal International was requesting its production employees not to report to work until further notice.
Beaumont city leaders expect to reopen city hall Wednesday. Garbage pickup will resume with Monday's pickup taking place Wednesday and the entire schedule pushed back two days.
The City of Nederland will resume normal operations on Tuesday, with the exception of garbage and trash services. Garbage and trash pickup is tentatively scheduled to resume on Wednesday with residential garbage pickup delayed for 2 days.
The City of Orange has suspended curb side garbage pickup for Monday, September 1st. As of Sunday afternoon, the city was uncertain about pickup for Tuesday.
The Groves Public Works department will begin normal operations on Wednesday, September 3. Contact the Public Works department at 960-5700 to obtain a schedule of trash and garbage pickup.
